Hand-bound Books & art, Made in Seattle
—— handmade: slowly & One at a time. ——

Made by hand. Every time.
Wrought & Bound is a Seattle-based book arts studio making hand-bound books, miniature bindings, and paper goods. The work draws from historical bookbinding, fantasy, and architectural forms, and is produced in small batches using traditional techniques.
Small batch works, made slow.
From miniature “Tiny Tomes” to hand-bound journals and fine art prints, each creation is designed to feel like it’s been found, not made — as if lifted from the library of some forgotten realm. Explore collections of books, prints, and leatherwork, or commission something uniquely your own!

Materials
Some books contain textured and art-ready paper for gauche, watercolor, or charcoal. Others hold smooth, thick, paper for the best writing experience. A few select books are sticker tomes; bound using a waxed paper you can safely store your stickers on and remove later.
Leather
Many of my books use a goat or sheep leather for their covers. I do stock vegan options and can recreate vegan options using a cotton-based faux leather, book cloth, or decorative papers.
Shapes & Sizes
I bind books in almost any shape or size. Exploring the bounds of the form is one of the things I love most. In some cases that may be playing with scale, in others it may be taking a more sculptural approach to a cover or incorporating new materials.
What’s Inside?
I make a variety of books! Most are journals and sketchbooks, though.

My Process
Work is produced using traditional bookbinding methods, including hand sewing, board construction, and leather covering. Pieces are made slowly and in limited quantities.
From an Imagined Library, Into Your Hands

Miniature hand-bound books made at a reduced scale. Available as individual pieces and wearable formats, including keychains and earrings.

Each piece is cut, folded, sewn, and finished by hand. Materials are selected for durability and use; many sourced from reclaimed or surplus stock.
